UPDATE: This Grievance was settled at the Department Head stage. All the "insubordination" charges were dropped and the member was reimbursed his pay that was deducted for the one day in question. Grievance settled!
January 14, 2008 - This newly filed grievance was placed on behalf of a firefighter who was denied FMLA Leave as required by Law, as well as subsequent discipline that the firefighter received, and the manner in which it was handled on December 30th that violates Article 7 of the Collective Bargaining Contract between the City of Norman and the International Association of Firefighters local 2067. It violates the Family Medical Leave Act. (Read Grievance...)
