Health Insurance - Opt-Out Letter

August 4, 2005 - The court case on this Insurance PERB and the suite by the CON is being sent back to a Norman Judge (Heatherington) because of the labor departments ruling which was out of context and is currently on appeal.

June 27, 2005 - Court case CJ-05-112 where the CON is suing us because the FOP sued them over the Insurance authorization forms is reset for August 1, 2005 at the McClain County courthouse, 121 North Second, Purcell, Oklahoma for the Hearing on Motion to dismiss, Motion for Summary Judgment and Cross motion for summary judgment.

February 7, 2005 - On January 19, 2005 the City sent a letter concerning Insurance issues to all Union members through the Fire Chief advising that if they did not sign and return it by January 25th that their Health Insurance would be dropped. This letter was sent without any agreement to the content of the letter by the Union and therefore constitutes Direct Dealing with the members of the IAFF, which is prohibited by State Law. February 1, 2005 - This Grievance will be another item the P.E.R.B. (Public Employees Relations Board) will address. The teleconference on this issue will be held on March 3, 2005 with the hearing scheduled for May 12, 2005.
