August 4, 2008 - The Clothing Committee has finalized the bidding and purchase opportunities for our various articles of clothing in which members will need for the upcoming year. (Special Ops Price Sheet...) (Looper Leather Price Sheet...) (Tee Shirts, etc. Price Sheet...) (Coverall Sizing Contacts...)

NOTE: The fitted hats will come in a mesh hat and a wool blend hat. These hats are NOT one size hats. You will need to try them on and find your size. They are a stretch fit hat that will come in S-XL. We will have samples available to try on at Station 1 until April 18th. There will be a mesh adjustable hat if you don't like the stretch fit. The following samples will be available at Station #1 to try on since they are new items.

  • Russell Regular Sweatshirts (50% cotton/50% poly) Dri Power
  • Russell Sweatpants (50% cotton/50% poly) Dri Power
  • Polos
  • Russel XT8 sweatshirt (65% cotton/ 35% poly)
  • Bucket Hats

We are in the process of gathering all the samples. As of 8/7 we will have the regular sweatshirts in M-XXL. We will have the sweatpants in M-XXL. We now have several different sizes of polo's available to try on. We also have both styles of sweatshirts available to try on. Samples are located in the conference room at station 1. Sorry for the delay. Also, we have all sizes of the stretch fit hat. Also, you will need to indicate a size on the stretch fit hats on your order forms.

NOTE: The deadline to turn in your clothing order form and money to your Assistant Chief has been extended to August 18, 2008 at 5:00 p.m. Please remember to make checks/money order payable to Local 2067 (no cash). Order forms must be turned in regardless of whether you place an order or not. Any questions can be addressed to any clothing committee representative.

NOTE: The 5.11 pants are not scheduled to arrive for a couple of weeks at "Special Ops". It is recommended that members should call "Special Ops" before going up to purchase this item. Conversely, members will need to stop by "Looper Leather", try on, and then place your order quickly to get your 5.11's with them. Please contact members of the Clothing Committee for any additional information.

July 23, 2008 - The following is the latest report from the clothing/uniform committee concerning the upcoming clothing/uniform order and is summarized by the following:

Committee Report
(submitted by Butch Crawford)

The Clothing committee met on July 16th at Fire Station #7. Items discussed were to put out order forms by the last week in July and have them turned in to the prospective crew Chiefs by August 11th. In addition to the items previously on the clothing order form additional items that have been requested and approved by the Fire Chief to be placed on the upcoming order forms are, Newly designed polo shirts made from a material that is called cool fit. The polo will have our current logo on the left chest with the name on the right chest, nothing on the back. They will be worn under the same guidelines as the previous polo’s were worn. They really look nice and are much cooler to wear than the heavy polo’s maybe even lighter than our duty t-shirts.

The other items that were approved to wear is a 'Boony' hat or what some might call a fishing hat. It will be worn in a limited situation such as mowing or hydrant maintenance to avoid extreme exposure to the sun which can cause melanoma cancer.

Also on the upcoming clothing order will be a alternate duty pant that is called 5-11 and is less expensive than the blower pant. The clothing committee has decided to round the dollar amount of the orders up to the next 50 cents so as to cover any unforeseen cost to the Union and possibly order some extras to keep in stock. We should be receiving our uniform allowance checks no later than August 1st. The company that was awarded the clothing bid is Baptist Athletics represented by Chad Humphrey.

The Clothing Committee Members are: Ronny Davenport, Keith Scott, James Hale, Nick Terhune, Chad Humphrey, Danny Attaway, Dennis Mitchell David Faught, Louis Domgard,  Jason Brown, Darrel Troupe,  Jack Ingram(co-chair), Kurt Holley (co-chair)and Butch Crawford. If I have omitted anyone please contact me and I apologize in advance.

If you have further questions, problems, or concerns about your upcoming clothing allotment, please contact any of the members of the clothing committee for clarification or complaint.

July 9, 2008 - The Uniform/Clothing Committee has tentatively scheduled a meeting for July 16, 2008 at 8:00 a.m. located at Fire Station #7. All committee members are encouraged to attend.

NOTED UPDATE - At discussion, and subject to working approval by the Fire Chief, will be the addition of several new clothing items; a new Polo designed with newer, lighter material with the updated logo and also, now being considered for approval by the Chief, a "bucket hat" to be worn during outdoor maintenance activities in protecting members from the sun during those extended stays outdoors during summer months.

It was also learned there is being considered two additional pants to be available for purchase that will meet the guidelines of approved uniform apparel in FY2009. They are more of the "tactical", "EMS" style of 6-pocket trousers.

There has been no information concerning the yearly draw for funds in which to begin purchasing this year's clothing/uniforms.

Stay tuned for additional information following the July 16th Uniform Committee meeting.

*FY08 Uniforms

August 14, 2007 - The committee has extended the "Uniforms" Price List from earlier this year to be the official list for 2007 - 2008. (UniformPriceList2007.pdf...) The items listed within this attachment are subject to change after 30 days.

In addition, the committee has finalized the "accessories" order form for 2007 - 2008. The order form is a "legal sized" PFD document. (BlankClothingOrderForm2007.pdf) (NOTE: This clothing form have an option for purchasing a One-Fit hat. We didn’t include a place to put the size on the forms. If you are purchasing a hat this year please specify if you want a One-Fit Small (7 1/8” or smaller) or a One-Fit Regular (Larger than 7 1/8”). Please write your size on the form. For those of you that wear a 7 1/8” hat, I have been informed by people with a head that size that they like the regular size better.)

Also on the One-Fits we have noted on the form that they are a cotton hat. They are a wool blend hat, not cotton. The adjustable hat on the form is the same blend as the One-Fit.

July 21, 2007 - The Clothing Committee met on Thursday July 19th at 5:30 p.m. at Station 7. The minutes to this meeting were submitted as follows:

"The Committee decided to stay with our current vendor instead of seeking a new vendor. The pocketed shorts issue was brought up and we are trying to find a mesh short with pockets or put the cotton pocketed shorts back on as an alternative. Either way there will be pocketed shorts on the clothing list. We also decide to add 2 new hats to the clothing list upon Chief’s approval. The hats are the TOW structured one fit hat that was previously issued by the dept and also a TOW cotton non-structured hat. Also the Polo issue was brought up and is in the beginning stages of discussion but will have nothing to do with this years clothing allowance.

Attending today’s meeting were: Kurt Holley, Jack Ingram, Jason Brown, David Faught, Steve Clymer, Louis Domgard, Ronny Davenport, and Brent Hopkins.

The next meeting will be August 1st at 7:30 a.m. at Station 7

February 8, 2007 - The clothing committee met Monday, February 5, 2007 to finalize the clothing order forms. The Committee received the approval of the Fire Chief on all of the new clothing garments. Everyone will be receiving an order form ASAP to be filled out and turned back in to their Captains by February 26th. Kirt Holley, Ronnie Davenport, and Keith Scott are helping with this. Anyone having questions on this can contact these Committee Members or Butch Crawford. More information coming soon.

*Miscellaneous

Fleece Pullovers

December 15, 2005 - It has been learned the new "fleece pull-overs" will arrive some time this week. Those that ordered them will have them in hand by the end of next week.

November 3, 2005 - Contact Jack Ingram or Butch Crawford to place your order. Your order must be accompanied by a check made out to “IAFF local 2067” for the amount of $56.00 before the order will be placed. Please make a notation on the check indicating the size you need (M, L, XL, XXL). If we receive more than 50 orders the price will drop to $46.00 and we will refund the balance.

November 1, 2005 - The members of the "uniform committee" met last week and arrived at a decision to add a "fleece pull-over" garment to the alternately available items that can be worn on-duty given the appropriate setting for such an item. NFD Administration put a stamp of approval on the "fleece pull-over" and ordering will take place as soon as the committee narrows down the company and price of this item.

It is estimated that the "fleece pullover" will cost about $56.00 and must be pre-paid. The IAFF Local 2067 will be handling the funds for the purchase of this item. (There is a possibility that the final cost of the item can be reduced if more than 50 pullovers are ordered.

It was understood that another order for "stocking caps" will be placed soon. The cost of these caps is $11.00 each.

The committee also discussed the implementation of "polo's" as well since conversations involving Fire Administration seem to be headed in that direction.

If members have any questions regarding the ordering, appearance, or any other concern about the "fleece pullovers", please contact one of the uniform committee members listed below.

December 20, 2004 - Members of the committee brought into this meeting the items that they tallied as those asked for by our members to be found on future clothing allowances. The Committee will now begin to prioritize the list and perform a 'cost analysis' of the end list for presentation to the membership followed by presentation to the Fire Chief for consideration. The next meeting has yet to be established.

November 19, 2004 - During this first meeting, the members present voiced the need to compile input from all members of the Department concerning shortcomings, desires, needs, changes or additions to the current uniform allotment. To accomplish this, the members of the committee will divide this task in polling various segments of the department and bring back the list of items that need to be discussed by the committee as potential parts of future uniform options. The next meetings will be on December 20, 2004.

November 16, 2004 - The Union clothing committee will have it's first meeting on November 19, 2004 at 8:00 a.m. They will hold this first meeting at Fire Station #4. The committee will be comprised of the following:

  • Kurt Holley (co-chair)
  • Butch Crawford (co-chair)
  • Mike Seiter
  • Brent Hopkins
  • Jason Brown
  • David Faught
  • Ronnie Davenport
  • Chris Beirne
  • Jack Ingram
  • Jeff Bernhardt
  • Jason Rogers
  • Louis Domgard
  • Steve Clymer

Station visits will be happening periodically for opinions and suggestions concerning possible additions & changes to our uniform clothing allowance.

October 8, 2004 - An NFD-IAFF Uniform Committee is being formed to discuss, research, report, and decide on changes and/or additions to Department Uniforms in the future.

If any member wishes to be a part of this committee, please contact either committee co-chairs: Butch Crawford or Kurt Holley.
